Nurse Manager, ICCU & Nursing Outcomes Improvement (14638-394)

Position Summary:
The Nurse Manager of ICCU and Nursing Outcomes Improvement operates within the Memorial Health System, Passavant Area Hospital, and Nursing Division mission, vision, strategic priorities, and goals. Utilizing a shared leadership philosophy, the Nurse Manager assumes 24 hour accountability for unit management and the quality of patient care on the designated unit. The Nurse Manager creates and maintains a work environment conducive to effective communication, collaboration, teambuilding, and nursing professionalism. She/he ensures the enculturation of the Magnet Program requirements on the unit. Maintains the clinical care aspects of the patient care unit on a 24-hour basis. Leads interprofessional efforts to implement evidence-based practice standards that advance nursing practice and improve patient outcomes. She/he maintains positive physician and interdepartmental relationships as well as positive employee morale. Responsible for developing nurse leaders in nursing outcomes improvement through mentorship of nurse leaders. Is a resource person and consultant for outcome initiatives involving nursing staff development, patient care, and nursing practice. Participates in ensuring constant compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
BSN required with a Master's degree in nursing or other related discipline or willing to achieve Master's degree in nursing or other related discipline within 3 years of hire.
Current licensure as an R.N. in the State of Illinois.
Holds nursing certification in area of clinical specialty, or acquires within one year.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred
Minimum of 2 years' experience within the past 5 years as a staff nurse in critical care or previous leadership in a critical care environment required.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Minimum two years of demonstrated participation in nursing performance improvement activities, including leading change initiatives, required.
Prior knowledge and involvement in Magnet designation processes preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of nurse-sensitive quality indicators and basic hospital/nursing regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated consistent pattern of continuing professional development.
Competent in Microsoft Office
Yearly Credentialing to maintain current level:
Attends all Joint Commission, OSHA and mandated inservices.
Maintains professional certification.
Completion of annual self-evaluation and professional development plan.
Participation in nursing leadership peer feedback process.
Membership in at least one professional organization.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
